The top-ranked player in the Class of 2020 is heading to USC, as five-star center Evan Mobley told Paul Biancardi and Jeff Bozello of ESPN that he's committing to the Trojans.

The move isn't surprising because Mobley's father, Eric, is an assistant coach with the program, while his brother, Isaiah, is a USC freshman.

"I want to get it out of the way before I start my senior year," Mobley said. "... As a freshman and sophomore, I wasn't sure exactly where I was going to go. I was looking for the best fit. But after my junior season, I know that being at USC is the right fit for me."

The 7-foot, 205-pounder won gold medals with USA Basketball at both the U17 and U19 World Cups, and he was named Gatorade California Player of the Year last season.

USC hired Mobley's father in 2018 after he spent several years coaching with a local grassroots program. Isaiah, a highly touted five-star prospect for the Class of 2019, committed to the Trojans shortly after that.
