Duke lands commitment from 5-star junior A.J. Griffin

Five-star junior forward A.J. Griffin has verbally committed to Duke, his high school coach confirmed to Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog on Monday.

Griffin also posted a video on Twitter that revealed his commitment. The product of Archbishop Stepinac in New York is the first commit in the Blue Devils' class of 2021. He made an official visit to the school on Oct. 18.

The high schooler was a member of the USA Basketball squad that won gold at June's Under-16 FIBA Americas Championship in Brazil. He averaged 13.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and 2.8 assists as Team USA finished with a perfect 6-0 record in the tournament.

Griffin is ranked 10th among all 2021 recruits by ESPN and eighth by 247Sports. He is the son of Toronto Raptors assistant coach Adrian Griffin.
