Seton Hall star Myles Powell left Saturday's game against Stony Brook with a left ankle sprain and won't return, according to SNY's Adam Zagoria.

The senior guard appeared to roll his ankle on a drive to the net during the early stages of the first half.

Powell thrived in a lead offensive role last season after Angel Delgado and Desi Rodriguez graduated. He ranked second in the Big East with 23.1 points per game.

The 22-year-old was named to the Associated Press' preseason All-American team and is on the watch list for the Jerry West Award, which is given annually to the nation's top shooting guard.

Powell had 27 points on 7-of-13 shooting to go along with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the Pirates' season-opening win over Wagner on Tuesday.

No. 12 Seton Hall, who went on to defeat Stony Brook, 74-57, is among the favorites in the Big East and will play top-ranked Michigan State on Thursday.
