Throughout the college basketball season, we'll highlight some of the top betting trends for the biggest games on the schedule. Here are the best trends and angles for tonight's slate.

New Mexico at No. 4 San Diego State (-15.5, 144.5)

San Diego State is unlikely to lose its first game of the season after blowing out New Mexico on the road two weeks ago, but the Lobos benefit from a nice revenge spot here. Teams that lose by at least 20 points in the prior matchup are on an 11-3 run against the spread when getting at least 15 points in the rematch. (The favorite won all 14 outright.)

Trend play: New Mexico +15.5

Nebraska at No. 9 Maryland (-17, 144)

Maryland's stout defense has powered an 8-2 ATS record in January, but its offense has sparked a 4-1 over run in its last five games. Enter Nebraska's lousy defense, which has allowed at least 75 points in seven straight games during a 6-1 over run. The Huskers are also 15-4 to the over in their last 19 road contests.

Trend play: Over 144

No. 12 Kentucky (-11, 144) at Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt held a 10-point lead as a 20.5-point underdog before letting up late during the last meeting between these two. The Commodores have another shot to surprise in what is a bad spot for Kentucky coach John Calipari, who is 3-8 ATS this year when giving 10 or more points and 3-10-1 ATS as a double-digit road favorite since 2013.

Trend play: Vanderbilt +11

No. 13 Penn State at Purdue (-5, 135.5)

Penn State is hot enough as it is with its 5-0-1 ATS streak, but it's also a must-play as an underdog with a 4-2 ATS record this year and 11-2 ATS run in that spot dating back to last season. The Nittany Lions have also covered four of their last five against Purdue despite a nine-game outright losing streak in the series.

Trend play: Penn State +5

Missouri at No. 25 LSU (-11, 144.5)

LSU has stumbled with two consecutive SEC losses, including an embarrassing one against Vandy. Tuesday's game is the perfect antidote. Missouri is 2-9 ATS since Jan. 1 with an 0-6 ATS road record during that time. The Tigers have also covered four of their last five as double-digit home chalk.

Trend play: LSU -11
