An MRI didn't show any structural damage after Illinois guard Ayo Dosunmu suffered an apparent leg injury on the final play of his team's one-point loss to Michigan State, the program announced Wednesday.

Dosunmu was dribbling the ball in the Spartans' half with seconds remaining in Tuesday's game when the sophomore slipped and fell on the court. The event caused him to turn the ball over, sealing the win for Michigan State.

Head coach Brad Underwood said the 20-year-old is still receiving medical treatment.

"What happened with Ayo last night is as difficult a situation as you'll see a young man go through, and a feeling where the outcome of the game goes from primary to secondary in a split second," Underwood said in a statement. "We received positive news today from the MRI scan.

"Our medical staff will work with him around the clock on treatment and recovery. Ayo and his family have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support."

Dosunmu leads the Fighting Illini in multiple categories this season, including points per game (15.8), assists (3.3), and minutes per contest (32.8). He's also averaging 4.3 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 24 games.
