Wichita State legend Antoine Carr believes men's basketball head coach Gregg Marshall should be let go if allegations of misconduct against him are substantiated.

"If everything is true, it's kind of obvious: He should be done. You can't put your hands on people, and you can't make racist comments," Carr told Stadium's Jeff Goodman.

Multiple former Wichita State players and staff have reportedly come forward recently to discuss incidents involving Marshall. Witnesses reportedly told school investigators the 57-year-old struck ex-Shockers forward Shaquille Morris at one practice during the 2015-16 campaign and choked former assistant coach Kyle Lindsted the following season. Witnesses also reportedly said Marshall directed racial slurs at players.

Carr, one of five Wichita State players to have their numbers retired by the school, said he was surprised to learn of the allegations but maintains Marshall must be punished if he committed such actions.

"That doesn't sound like the Gregg Marshall that I'd been around," Carr said. "But if he's doing that, it's not right. We need to do something."

Wichita State is currently investigating the matter. Marshall has denied all allegations of physical misconduct.
