ACC's Swofford would look to add 2nd school if Notre Dame joined

There is no indication Notre Dame will be joining the ACC any time soon, but if they ever do, they probably won't be doing it alone.

ACC commissioner John Swofford said on Sirius XM Radio he would "look at adding another school" if the Irish ever joined the conference, according to college football reporter Brett McMurphy. Swofford also echoed recent statements from Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick, noting the two sides haven't had any discussions about adding the Irish.

The ACC has 14 members, so adding Notre Dame would give them an uneven number. Bringing in two schools would give the conference 16 teams and keep the Coastal and Atlantic divisions balanced.

Notre Dame is one of four Independent schools in the FBS, but will play five ACC teams in 2017.
