LSU's Jackson, Toliver both feel they're the best CBs in the country

Trying to shut down some of the best receivers in the nation requires a certain level of confidence, something that Donte Jackson and Kevin Toliver certainly aren't lacking.

The LSU duo both feel they are worthy of the distinction of being the nation's best cornerback.

"I believe I’m the best corner in the country," Toliver said, according to Nick Suss of SEC Country. "I think I can do the things that he does. He really can’t do the things that I do. He’s faster than me, but at the same time, I think my technique is way better than his."

The Tigers showed just how strong their secondary can be Saturday, as they allowed Ole Miss quarterback Shea Patterson only 116 yards passing, intercepting him three times.

"I’m in my bag," Jackson said. "That’s a quote. I’m in my bag. I’m in my bag, man. I feel like I’m the best in the country. That’s how I’ve got to play. Coach Raymond, he gives me that leeway. He tells me all the time I’m the best. So that’s how I’ve got to play. I’ve got to play like the best."

Saturday's performance against the Rebels helped LSU rebound from a disappointing home loss to Troy late last month, giving them three-straight wins. A little friendly competition doesn't hurt either.
