Texas' Ehlinger being evaluated for head injury suffered vs. Oklahoma St.

Texas could have a quarterback conundrum, as Sam Ehlinger was held out of Sunday's practice due to a head injury sustained Saturday against Oklahoma State, according to Jeff Howe of 247 Sports, citing the Longhorns injury report.

Ehlinger is currently being evaluated for the injury, and sophomore Shane Buechele stepped in to take first-team reps during practice, according to Anwar Richardson of OrangeBloods.com.

Buechele opened the season as the starter for the Longhorns, but an opening week injury forced head coach Tom Herman to turn to Ehlinger. The freshman did enough to convince Herman he was worthy of the full-time role following his start against USC, but it's likely Buechele will be called into action if Ehlinger isn't cleared to play.

Ehlinger has shown considerable ability during his first season, completing 55.7 percent of his passes for 1,419 yards and six touchdowns, along with four interceptions.
