Wisconsin wide receiver Quintez Cephus announced via Twitter on Saturday evening that he'll be taking a leave of absence from the football team after lawyers informed him the Dane County district attorney's office intends to issue "unspecified charges" following an incident in April.

Cephus says he's been wrongfully accused of unlawful conduct and that he's innocent of allegations associated with what he's calling a consensual relationship.

The three-star recruit of the 2016 class is entering his junior year and racked up 501 yards and six touchdowns with 30 receptions over nine games last season. He was Wisconsin's second-leading receiver.
