Virginia Tech quarterback Josh Jackson will be sidelined indefinitely with a fractured left leg, head coach Justin Fuente confirmed Monday.

The sophomore sustained the injury during Saturday's shocking loss to Old Dominion. He threw for 575 yards with five touchdowns and one interception across three games this season.

Jackson had the Hokies on the brink of a top-10 ranking before the disastrous result against Old Dominion. Virginia Tech dropped out of the AP Poll after slapping the non-conference blemish onto its resume.

With Jackson out, Virginia Tech will start Ryan Willis at quarterback against No. 22 Duke on Saturday. Willis transferred back to Virginia Tech last year after a two-year stint at Kansas.
