A Fresno State fan celebrated his team's victory over Arizona State so hard that he ended up leaving the game with a broken leg.

Paityn Boyt, a member of the Fresno State dance team, tweeted a photo Saturday of her father, Dave Boyt, being loaded into an ambulance following the Las Vegas Bowl.

"I've always wanted to rush the field," Dave told Bryant-Jon Anteola of the Fresno Bee from his hospital bed Sunday. "I never had a chance to do it before.

"I just got caught up living in the moment. I wanted to celebrate with the players and share this moment with my daughter, who was already down on the field. We're huge Bulldogs fans."

After being transported to a Las Vegas hospital, Dave learned he shattered the bottom of his tibia and fibula, and that his foot had been separated from his leg. He underwent successful surgery Sunday and is expected to be sidelined for eight weeks.

"People have asked me if I'd do it again. Unfortunately, I think I still have to say yes," Dave added. "We all make mistakes in life. But this one's a memory I'll happily never forget."
