Spencer Sanders appears to have won Oklahoma State's quarterback competition, with sources telling Brett McMurphy of Stadium that the redshirt freshman will get the nod on Friday against Oregon State.

Sanders battled with Hawaii graduate transfer Dru Brown throughout camp, and he's done enough to gain head coach Mike Gundy's trust.

The native of Denton, Texas joined the Cowboys as the country's eighth-ranked quarterback in the Class of 2018, according to ESPN's recruiting rankings.

Sanders will be filling some big shoes this year for the Big 12 team, as Taylor Cornelius threw for 3,978 yards and 32 touchdowns last season as the Cowboys' pivot.
