Colorado State HC takes aim at refs after loss to Colorado

Mike Bobo didn't waste any time in making his feelings known about the officiating after Colorado State's 52-31 loss in the rivalry game to Colorado on Friday.

The game was played a neutral site in Denver but featured an officiating crew from the Pac-12, the conference in which the Buffaloes are a member. That didn't sit well with the veteran Rams coach.

"I don't understand it. It's too big a game to not have neutral refs," Bobo told the media, according to ESPN's Adam Rittenberg.

The main play Bobo had a problem with was a fumble ruling against Colorado State with the score 24-21 in the second half. The officials ruled that Marvin Kinsey Jr. lost the ball before hitting the ground, with the Buffaloes recovering the fumble. The replay review upheld the call and Colorado went on to score and extend its lead to 10 points.

The good news for Bobo, who's never beaten Colorado, is the game returns to an on-campus venue next season, with Colorado State hosting.
