Kansas ended a historic losing streak Friday with a 48-24 beatdown of three-touchdown favorite Boston College, and head coach Les Miles believes the win sends a message to the college football world.

"I think it tells everybody that the Jayhawks are coming," said Miles, according to 247Sports' Scott Chasen.

The Jayhawks entered the matchup having lost 48 straight Power 5 road games, a streak that dated back to 2008.

Their offense was virtually unstoppable against the Eagles, racking up 541 yards and scoring on seven consecutive possessions to help give Miles his 200th career win.

The 65-year-old, who spent two years away from coaching after LSU fired him in 2016, was emotional after earning his first signature victory in his return to college football.

"It was a soft moment for me," Miles told Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel. "I saw our players who were celebrating and happy. It's just what you wanted to be a part of. It's why you came back."

With a 2-1 start, Miles has already helped shift expectations for Kansas this season.

After the win, the coach joked that he'd "just committed an NCAA violation" by promising his players some fun to celebrate ending the streak, according to Kansas broadcaster Brian Hanni.

"I just told our team we're gonna park that plane for a while and go out and party in downtown Boston!" Miles said.
