Alabama quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones will continue to split first-team practice reps ahead of the upcoming matchup against LSU, head coach Nick Saban told reporters, according to AL.com's Matt Zenitz.

The Crimson Tide continue to label Tagovailoa as a "game-time decision" for Saturday's battle between the No. 1 and No. 2 teams, Zenitz adds.

"We'll see where he's at today," Saban said, according to Zenitz. "If he goes out there today and he looks good, then his rep count is going to go up and we'll prepare him (like) he's going to have an opportunity to play in the game."

Tagovailoa returned to practice last week following a tightrope procedure on his right ankle on Oct. 20. However, Saban has refused to commit to him as the starter versus the Tigers.

The head coach initially predicted Tagovailoa would miss one or two weeks and that his status for the much-anticipated game depended on how he looked in practice.

Jones started for the injured lefty in a dominant 48-7 win over Arkansas on Oct. 26. The backup pivot passed for 235 yards and three touchdowns.
