LSU passing game coordinator and receivers coach Joe Brady was named the recipient Tuesday of the Broyles Award as the nation's top assistant.

Brady joined the Tigers in the offseason after spending two campaigns in the NFL as an offensive analyst with the New Orleans Saints. His hiring immediately paid dividends as quarterback Joe Burrow rose to the top of the sport with an incredible senior season in Baton Rouge.

The prohibitive favorite to win the Heisman Trophy saw his numbers rise at an astronomical rate from 2018 without Brady to this season under his tutelage.

STAT 2018 2019
Completion percentage 57.8 77.9
Yards 2894 4715
TD 16 48
INT 5 6
RTG 133.2 201.5

LSU enters the College Football Playoff as the No. 1 seed in the country.

Brady claimed the award over Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, Utah defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley, Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Snow, and Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Lanning.
