Miami added a talented prospect to its 2020 recruiting class on National Signing Day, as four-star safety Avantae Williams announced his decision to join the Hurricanes.
Williams, ESPN's top-ranked safety prospect, opted to attend Miami over Florida, which many viewed as the favorite to land the defensive back. He's the No. 51 overall recruit on the ESPN 300.
"Miami is where all the greatest players played," Williams said. "I want to be one of the greats there."
Hurricanes head coach Manny Diaz completed a successful recruiting period after a rough 2019 campaign. Miami landed five top-100 prospects, including Williams and 4-star offensive tackle Jalen Rivers.
