Star Ohio State players Shaun Wade and Wyatt Davis have been cleared to play after opting back into the 2020 college football season, Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day said on WBNS-FM 97.1, according to ESPN's Mark Schlabach.

Wade, a junior cornerback, initially declared for the NFL draft in September with the college football season up in the air due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Big Ten has since decided to begin its campaign in late October, prompting the presumptive first-round draft pick to change course.

Davis, a third-year guard, is also a projected first-round selection.

Their returns bolster a Buckeyes squad with legitimate national title aspirations.

Ohio State begins its season on Oct. 24 against Nebraska.
