Freestyle skier Mikael Kingsbury was named the 2018 recipient of the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's top athlete Tuesday.
The 26-year-old captured the gold medal in moguls at the 2018 PyeongChang Games in February, improving on his silver-medal finish in Sochi four years ago and further solidifying his standing as the most accomplished moguls skier of all time.
At the conclusion of the 2017-18 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup season, Kingsbury ranked No. 1 overall and No. 1 in moguls, his seventh straight year leading both categories.
Kingsbury is the fifth skier to capture the Lou Marsh Trophy and first since world champion Lucile Wheeler was honored in 1958.
