3 best bets for Nick Foles' next landing spot

Nick Foles figures to be a hot commodity this offseason. After leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl win in 2018 and making a run into the divisional round this year, Foles should have plenty of suitors. But which team makes the most sense?

Here are our three best bets, with odds courtesy of BetDSI.

Favorite - Jacksonville Jaguars (+350)

You can see how the dots connect to a franchise with no commitment to a starting pivot, and to one that just hired Foles' former quarterbacks coach. Although Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone said the hiring of John DeFilippo as offensive coordinator had "zero" correlation to a potential run at Foles, it should be viewed as a plus for Jaguars brass should they do so. The Miami Dolphins (+200) and Washington Redskins (+300) are the current quarterback-needy front-runners. However, the Dolphins still have Ryan Tannehill and are considering a rebuild, while the Redskins aren't the most attractive fit for Foles. The Jaguars will have a new face under center in 2019, it just boils down to whether they find it via the draft or through free agency.

Underdog - Denver Broncos (+400)

John Elway has cycled through plenty of quarterbacks post-Peyton Manning in his attempt to find a permanent fix under center. We even recommended reigning Heisman winner Kyler Murray as a potential fit for the Denver Broncos earlier in the week. But the franchise is in a tricky spot in the draft at No. 10 and could see an early run on quarterbacks in a thin class. Elway loves pocket passers and will continue swinging for the fences, making Denver a viable destination for Foles.

Long shot - Carolina Panthers (+2000)

The Carolina Panthers are all of a sudden a realistic possibility for Foles after news surfaced earlier in the week that Cam Newton's shoulder injury might put his 2019 season in jeopardy. That'd be a huge blow to the Panthers' offense, which has minimal experience with Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen. Panthers owner Dave Tepper admitted a potential domino effect could occur if Newton is sidelined, telling reporters, "Now we would have to do other things, right? We'd have to go out and get another quarterback." With these odds and the Panthers potentially in the market for a proven quarterback, it makes a ton of sense to throw Carolina in the mix.
