New Orleans hip-hop mogul and former basketball player Percy "Master P" Miller says Louisiana will welcome Zion Williamson with open arms if he lands with the Pelicans in the NBA draft.

Miller spoke about the possibility of Williamson playing in New Orleans during an interview with TMZ Sports this week.

"He would be the biggest athlete in New Orleans if he comes," Miller said. "Like, think about that. For an African-American kid coming to a state that's gonna embrace you - 'cause New Orleans is Louisiana. You know, one thing about us at home, the whole state is gonna embrace you.

"He'll be bigger than Michael Jordan, I'm just telling y'all. Think about it, when Jordan first came out of college everybody had to have his jersey. Everybody wanted to be like Mike. Come to New Orleans they gonna wanna be like you, Z."

The Zion effect is already being felt in New Orleans, as the Pelicans saw their season ticket sales surge after winning the draft lottery on Tuesday night.

Lee Anderson, Williamson's stepfather, said during an appearance on ESPN's "Off the Bench" on Thursday that the former Duke star is "excited" about the prospect of joining the Pelicans.
