Bad beats: Colorado, Rams spoil first-half unders

Another week brings another collection of gut-wrenching bad beats for football bettors.

There's a reason we wait until Monday to release these. Hopefully, if you were on the wrong end of one or more of these outcomes, you've had enough time to hit the reset button.

As always, if you bet on any of these, our sincerest condolences.

Arizona 35, Colorado 30

Bad beat: First-half under 31.5

Know what's good for a first-half under? Six punts in seven drives spanning the first and second quarters.

Know what's bad for a first-half under? Twenty-four points in the final 2:37, including a touchdown at the buzzer to lose.

Never count your chickens before they hatch.

Boise State 38, UNLV 13

Bad beat: UNLV +24.5

Up there for worst beat of the entire season, this one goes a little something like this...

Down 31-7 and getting 24.5, UNLV scored a touchdown with 1:23 left in the fourth to cut the lead to 18.

The extra point was no good.

So, instead of kicking the ball deep and letting Boise State run out the clock, the Rebels opted for an onside kick...which was promptly returned down to their own six-yard line. You can probably imagine what happened on the first play of the ensuing drive, but we'll just show you:

UNLV lost by 25 because of the extra point. Goodness gracious.

Texas 42, West Virginia 31

Bad beat: Texas -11/-11.5

It all depends on where you got this one. With the Longhorns up by 18 late, the last thing anyone with a Texas -11 or -11.5 ticket wanted to see was a prevent defense. And that's exactly what we got.

West Virginia converted a pair of fourth downs in garbage time, including a fourth-and-10 fade route from Austin Kendall to Bryce Wheaton that ultimately impacted the spread:

Rams 30, Seahawks 29

Bad beat: First-half under 24

Another first-half under bad beat, this time in an NFL matchup between the Rams and Seahawks.

With his team trailing 14-6 and only 1:33 remaining in the first half, quarterback Jared Goff led the Rams on an eight-play, 62-yard scoring drive, capping it off with this last-second touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp:
