The Milwaukee Brewers claimed outfielder Billy McKinney off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays, they announced Monday. The team then sent him to their alternate training site.

The Blue Jays designated McKinney for assignment on Friday after he appeared in just two games this summer.

McKinney hit .230/.291/.439 with 18 home runs and 41 RBIs in 122 games across parts of three seasons with Toronto.

The Blue Jays originally acquired the 26-year-old in 2018 from the New York Yankees alongside Brandon Drury in exchange for left-handed starter J.A. Happ.

Milwaukee has also recalled right-hander Justin Topa as the 29th man for Monday's doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals and reinstated reliever Ray Black from the 45-day injured list.
