Mahomes: Proposing to girlfriend more nerve-racking than Super Bowl

Patrick Mahomes admits he was more nervous popping the question to his longtime girlfriend, Brittany Matthews, than he was during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was asked to compare the two moments Monday in an interview with KCSP 610 Sports Radio.

"Probably proposing, I would say," Mahomes said. "You don't think it's going to be nerve-racking, especially when you've been with someone for so long, but before you get on that knee, man, your heart's racing. I promise you that."

Mahomes proposed to Matthews during the Chiefs' Super Bowl LIV ring ceremony at Arrowhead Stadium earlier this month. The couple has been together since high school.
