Gronkowski 'involved in everything' as Patriots open OTAs

Rob Gronkowski appears to be coming along nicely in the early stages of spring workouts.

Seemingly having made significant progress since Dec. 2 back surgery, the New England Patriots tight end was a full participant when OTAs got underway this week.

"He looks like Gronk," offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said, according to Karen Guregian of The Boston Herald. "We haven't got into a big evaluation. He's involved in everything."

The Patriots will almost certainly maintain caution and avoid pushing him too much, but it's particularly encouraging that Gronkowski is already taking part in all phases of practice.

He'll have plenty of time to work his way back to 100 percent over the summer and heading into the fall.

Already considered an all-time great at his position, a full-strength Gronkowski would be a major development for the high-powered Patriots offense this season.

When healthy, the four-time Pro Bowler takes both the passing attack and the run-blocking unit to another level.

Gronkowski finished the 2016 season with 25 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns while starting six-of-eight appearances.
