Report: Karlos Williams suspended at least 1 year
Free-agent running back Karlos Williams has been suspended by the NFL for at least one year, ESPN's Field Yates reports. The free agent violated the league's substance-abuse policy for a third time, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Previously property of the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers, Williams was suspended for 10 games in late 2016 for a similar violation.
Williams has yet to play in a game since 2015 and is currently unsigned. He played in 11 games for the Bills in 2015, rushing for 517 yards and seven touchdowns in a reserve role. He was released before the beginning of the 2016 season after being hit with a four-game suspension.
The Steelers signed him in 2016 but waived him in March. He has one game remaining on his 10-game suspension from last season.
