Bills' McDermott has 'all the confidence in the world' in Tyrod Taylor

Sean McDermott doesn't want a quarterback controversy on his hands.

The Buffalo Bills head coach created a minor stir Thursday night after a poor performance by Taylor when he indicated "we're always going to evaluate everything." McDermott quickly tried to squash any idea that Taylor's job would be in jeopardy and reiterated that Friday.

"I have all the confidence in the world in Tyrod," McDermott told reporters, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com. "By no means was that meant to come across that way. Tyrod's going to start for us (against the Ravens on Aug. 26), and I look forward to him getting back on track."

Taylor managed just 53 yards passing and two interceptions against the Philadelphia Eagles, causing some to question a possible change. That being said, the depth chart behind Taylor isn't exactly brimming with talent, with journeymen T.J. Yates and rookie Nathan Peterman next in line.

With Buffalo apparently rebuilding after dealing away Sammy Watkins, it could be a challenging season for Taylor.
