Dolphins' Gase not shutting door on suspended Timmons

Although the Miami Dolphins handed linebacker Lawrence Timmons an indefinite suspension Tuesday, head coach Adam Gase says that doesn't mean his days with the team are over.

"I think every situation's different," Gase said, according to James Walker of ESPN. "I would say that you can be forgiven if the right steps are taken."

Under the NFL's collective bargaining agreement, Timmons' indefinite suspension can last a maximum of four games, while potentially being lifted at any time.

Chase Allen started Week 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers as Timmons' emergency replacement. Rey Maualuga and the recently acquired Stephone Anthony are being considered as longer-term options at linebacker.
