Lynch suspended 1 game for unsportsmanlike conduct

Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch will miss one week of action, NFL vice president of football communications Michael Signora confirmed Friday.

Lynch will appeal the suspension and is expected to have a hearing next week, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Raiders' veteran shoved an official during Thursday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs and was promptly ejected. He ran for nine yards on two carries before being sent off.

Lynch was then found in the stands following his ejection.

"You made deliberate physical contact with one of our game officials as he was diffusing an active confrontation between players," NFL vice president of football operations Jon Runyan wrote to Lynch. "You were disqualified for your inappropriate and unsportsmanlike actions. Your conduct included pushing the game official and grabbing his jersey."

As a result, Lynch will miss the Raiders' upcoming contest against the Buffalo Bills on Oct. 29.

Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington will see increased carries in Lynch's absence.
