Elliott answers suspension speculation with best game of career

Kyle Terada / USA TODAY Sports

Ezekiel Elliott heard all your takes about his suspension the last two weeks.

Since last playing in Week 5, the Dallas Cowboys running back had his six-game ban reinstated and then delayed again. Despite the cloud of uncertainty hanging over him, the second-year pro responded with the best game of his young career.

Elliott started the win over the San Francisco 49ers by scoring two touchdowns in the first seven minutes, marching in scores from one and 25 yards out.

After Elliott defended himself against allegations and declared that it is "important for me to fight", he planted himself in team history, producing his 10th career 100-yard rushing game in just 21 contests.

However, Elliott did not limit himself to success in the ground game, taking his only reception for a 72-yard score.

Elliott's 239 total yards on 27 touches surpassed his previous best of 209 yards, set last season against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

A suspension may very well be coming for Elliott this season, but it appears he's going to make the most of his touches while he can still get them.
