Rams' Peters carted to locker room with ankle injury

Los Angeles Rams cornerback Marcus Peters left Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers with an ankle injury, according to team insider Myles Simmons.

Peters was carted to the locker room and wasn't able to put any weight on his right leg. He's officially been ruled out for the rest of the game.

The Rams acquired the 25-year-old from the Kansas City Chiefs in March. Peters had an impressive debut with his new team, recording a pick-6 in Week 1 against the Oakland Raiders.

Peters is the leader of a stout Los Angeles secondary. An extended absence would thrust Nickell Robey-Coleman, Sam Shields, and Troy Hill into more significant roles.
