The Cincinnati Bengals want to hire Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor as their new head coach once the Rams finish their playoff run, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen.

Teams can't hire coaches from playoff teams until their teams are eliminated.

If hired, Taylor will be the second coach who's worked under Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay to earn a top job in this coaching cycle; Matt LaFleur already landed with the Green Bay Packers.

The 35-year-old Taylor would also become the second-youngest head coach in the league after McVay.

Taylor has received interest around the league and also interviewed with the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals after helping Rams quarterback Jared Goff turn things around following a poor rookie season in 2016.

Before joining the Rams as an assistant wide receiver coach in 2017, Taylor was the offensive coordinator at the University of Cincinnati.

The Bengals mutually parted ways with Marvin Lewis in December after 16 seasons.
