Cleveland Browns receiver Antonio Callaway's marijuana possession charge was dropped last month, Callaway's lawyer told Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Callaway was cited for possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license on Aug. 5. However, his lawyer, Kevin Spellacy, provided proof that Callaway had his car shipped to Ohio from Florida only three days prior and argued that the wideout did not know the marijuana was in his car, under the passenger's seat.

"It was literally the size of the tip of a pen. That's how minute it was, and at the end of the day, they knew they had a problem proving a case against him that he knew he possessed marijuana, which he didn't know," Spellacy told Cabot.

"They did the right thing. They dismissed it."

The incident, and the Browns discovering it, was captured on this summer's "Hard Knocks" series.

Callaway just completed his rookie season, playing all 16 games and recording 43 receptions. He also ranked third on the team with 586 receiving yards, and first in touchdown catches with five.
