Broncos' Sanders questionable for start of training camp
Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders isn't sure if he'll be ready for the beginning of training camp as he continues to rehab his injured Achilles.
"We'll see," the two-time Pro Bowler said Tuesday, according to Aric DiLalla of DenverBroncos.com. "You know how the trainers are. We're not going to put a date on anything. We're just going to take it one day at a time. Hopefully I'm back out there by then, but if I'm not, I'm not going to rush it. I'm going to take my time and make sure I'm 100 percent by the time I get on the field."
Sanders noted he's neither ahead nor behind schedule in his recovery process. The 32-year-old tore his Achilles in practice Dec. 5, leaving the Broncos without their top receiver for the final quarter of the season.
In 12 games last year, the veteran notched 71 receptions for 868 yards and four touchdowns. Sanders eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in three straight seasons from 2014-16.
Sanders is entering the final year of his contract with the Broncos. He's due a base salary of $10.15 million in 2019, according to OverTheCap.
Training camp commences in mid-July.
