Rob Gronkowski insists he's not interested in an NFL return, but the retired New England Patriots tight end apparently got the chance to see what he's missing Monday.

Tom Brady threw to Gronkowski during a private workout on the UCLA campus, a source told MassLive's Andrew Callahan.

Photos of the two ex-teammates posted to Instagram appeared to corroborate the report and Gronkowski himself confirmed he took passes from Brady.

"Tom needs someone to throw to so, you know, he calls Mr. Reliable Robbie G, the one and only," Gronkowski told independent reporter Dov Kleiman.

Brady has worked out at the school's campus several times this offseason. Meanwhile, Gronkowski is apparently in Los Angeles for a celebrity basketball game, which takes place Monday at UCLA, according to NESN's Chris Grenham.

Gronkowski hung up his cleats in March after a Hall of Fame career.

The star tight end has spent this offseason reiterating his desire to remain retired, though he admitted speculation will continue regardless of what he says.

"Oh man! Whatever I say, it doesn't matter. It will always be crazy out there, but you can put them to rest," Gronkowski said in June.

Gronkowski made waves last month by turning up to a red carpet premiere of former teammate Julian Edelman's Showtime documentary looking dramatically slimmer than his playing days.
