The Houston Texans won't hire a general manager for the 2019 season, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Houston fired Brian Gaine on June 7 in a move that caught the football world by surprise. The Texans then attempted to lure top personnel man Nick Caserio from the New England Patriots but dropped their pursuit after the Super Bowl champions filed tampering charges.

The Texans will divide GM duties among front-office members Matt Bazirgan, James Liipfert, Chris Olsen, and Jack Easterby.

One of the top items on the Texans' agenda is figuring out what to do with Jadeveon Clowney, who's yet to sign his franchise tag. The Pro Bowl edge rusher is looking to ink a long-term deal by Monday's deadline for franchised players to sign multi-year agreements.
