Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon was cited late Tuesday for driving under the influence, according to court and police documents that Mike Klis of 9News obtained.

Gordon also received a speeding ticket for driving 25-39 mph over the limit. He's slated to appear in Denver County Court for an arraignment Nov. 13, a day before the Broncos are scheduled to fly to Las Vegas to play the Raiders.

"We are aware of the situation involving Melvin Gordon," the Broncos said in a statement. "Our organization has been in communication with him and is in the process of gathering more details."

The Broncos sent Gordon home from practice Wednesday and haven't determined whether he'll play in Week 6, head coach Vic Fangio told reporters, including ESPN's Jeff Legwold.

Gordon leads the Broncos in rushing through four games, posting 281 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. The two-time Pro Bowler inked a two-year contract with Denver this past offseason following a five-year stay with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The 27-year-old is coming off his most productive game of the season, recording 118 total yards and finding the end zone twice against the New York Jets in Week 3. The Broncos were assigned a Week 5 bye after COVID-19 issues involving their opponent, the New England Patriots, postponed the contest.
