While Texans fans are planning to march Monday to support Deshaun Watson in the hopes of keeping the disgruntled quarterback in Houston, Watson doesn't want anyone to risk spreading COVID-19 on his behalf.

"Although I am humbled, I ask that whoever is organizing the march cancel for the sake of public safety," Watson tweeted. "COVID is spreading at a high rate and I don't want any fans to unnecessarily expose themselves to infection."

Watson has been involved in trade speculation after he reportedly expressed frustration with the club over being left out of the team's general manager search. Houston also apparently ignored Watson's request for the club to interview Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for its vacant head coaching job.

People within the Texans organization have reportedly speculated that Watson has played his final snap with the club.

However, Texans CEO and chairman Cal McNair recently said he wants Watson "in the loop and part" of the team's process in finding a new head coach.

Houston is reportedly now expected to interview Bieniemy on Monday.

Watson, 25, set career highs with 4,823 passing yards and 33 touchdowns in 2020.
