Lamar to see more snaps under center in 2021

After primarily lining up from the pistol formation during his first three seasons, Lamar Jackson should see more snaps under center in 2021.

"That is definitely going to be a part of what we do this year," said Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley.

Roman added: "I don't know the extent of it. But we are working on it and evaluating it every day. ... I believe it's a very important part in the development of a quarterback from a forward standpoint."

Since becoming the Ravens' starter in 2018, Jackson has taken the fewest snaps under center among quarterbacks with at least 10 starts, per Hensley. He played from that position on just 4% of his 889 snaps last year.

In addition to seeing more time under center, Jackson will have some new pass-catching weapons around him this season. Baltimore signed Sammy Watkins and drafted Rashod Bateman and Tylan Wallace to help improve last year's 32-ranked passing attack (171.2 yards per game).

Jackson will be with the Ravens through the 2022 season after they exercised his fifth-year option. He's said he'd love to remain with the club "forever."
