Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced Tuesday that defensive end Chris Jones is in COVID-19 protocols, according to Herbie Teope of the Kansas City Star.

Jones' participation in Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers is now in doubt.

The 27-year-old has 12 tackles, seven sacks, and one forced fumble for the Chiefs this season, including a season-high 3.5 sacks in a 19-9 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 21.

In the Chiefs' most recent win - a 48-9 blowout of the Las Vegas Raiders - Jones tallied one assisted tackle and 0.5 sacks.

Reid also noted L'Jarius Sneed won't practice Tuesday but is returning to Kansas City after the cornerback missed the Raiders game due to the death of his brother.

"I think it will be good for him to be around his teammates," Reid said, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher.
