NFL world celebrates Brady's 45th birthday
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is celebrating his 45th birthday Wednesday.
Brady's set to become the first 45-year-old signal-caller to start an NFL game next month, according to ESPN's Field Yates. The five-time Super Bowl MVP previously acknowledged that his goal was to play until his mid-40s.
The future Hall of Famer hasn't slowed down during his 40s, leading the NFL with 5,316 passing yards, 43 touchdowns, and 485 completions last season at age 44.
Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said he isn't quite sure what to get Brady for his birthday. "As long as we keep him upright, and he's walking, that's a great birthday," he said jokingly, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine.
After an offseason where he had a brief 40-day retirement, the seven-time Super Bowl-winning passer is returning for his 23rd NFL season to settle some "unfinished business."
