Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams suffered a fracture in his back that's expected to sideline him for two-to-three weeks, according to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.

Williams has been ruled out for Saturday's wild-card matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 28-year-old Williams was injured in the second quarter of the Chargers' Week 18 matchup against the Denver Broncos.

The initial X-ray and MRI didn't reveal the fracture. After Williams didn't progress this week, further tests were run that revealed the injury, according to Thiry.

The Chargers were locked into the AFC's fifth playoff seed before their Week 18 game. Head coach Brandon Staley kept his starters in for the majority of the contest.

Williams missed time due to an ankle injury earlier in the year. He has played in 13 games, hauling in 895 yards and four touchdowns this season.
