Report: Bucs to interview McCardell, Kubiak, Cooter for OC job

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are ramping up their search for a new offensive coordinator.

They're set to interview Minnesota Vikings wide receivers coach Keenan McCardell, Denver Broncos passing-game coordinator Klint Kubiak, and Jacksonville Jaguars passing-game coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, according to Pewter Report.

McCardell was a wideout for the Buccaneers from 2002-2003. He was the wide receivers coach in Jacksonville for four seasons before landing in Minnesota in 2021.

Kubiak is the son of Super Bowl-winning head coach Gary Kubiak. He served as the Vikings' offensive coordinator last season but was not retained when Kevin O'Connell was hired as head coach.

Cooter was the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions from 2016-2018. He served as an offensive consultant for the Eagles last season and was hired by Doug Pederson to help in Jacksonville last offseason.

Tampa Bay requested to interview Houston Texans offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton but he declined, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

The Buccaneers fired offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich after their loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round. Tampa Bay finished 25th in points per game this season.
