Shanahan: Purdy has 'chance' to play Week 3 vs. Cardinals
Brock Purdy's absence could be shorter than expected.
San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday that the quarterback has a "chance" to play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, according to 95.7 The Game.
Purdy, who is dealing with turf toe, missed the 49ers' Week 2 game, with Mac Jones stepping in to lead the team to a 26-21 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Purdy was limited in Wednesday's practice and could dress as the emergency quarterback in Week 3, Shanahan added.
The 25-year-old signal-caller sustained the injury during San Francisco's 17-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. He had two touchdowns and two interceptions in the contest.
Sunday's matchup will be a battle of undefeated clubs as the 49ers and Cardinals put their 2-0 starts on the line.
