3 biggest disappointments from Day 1 of the Dean & DeLuca Invitational
J.T. Poston, Derek Fathauer, and Kelly Kraft set the pace Thursday at the Dean & DeLuca Invitational, each posting 5-under-par 65s. However, not everyone was at their best on Day 1. Here are three players who disappointed.
Charley Hoffman (+2)
Hoffman wasted a good ball-striking round to shoot a 2-over-par 72 on Thursday at Colonial Country Club. The four-time PGA Tour winner hit 77 percent of the greens, one of the best in the field on Day 1, but sits in a tie for 62nd place.
Bud Cauley (+4)
The Daytona Beach native arrived at Fort Worth as one of the hottest players on tour, with four consecutive top-10 results, but struggled Thursday en route to a 4-over 74. Cauley made three birdies, five bogeys, and a double to card his worst score since Saturday at the Texas Open.
