Report: Public tickets won't be sold for Tiger-Phil head-to-head match
If you were planning on heading to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving to catch the Tiger Woods-Phil Mickelson head-to-head match, make other arrangements.
Tickets to the $9-million pay-per-view battle set to take place Nov. 23 at Shadow Creek Golf Course won't be sold to the public, according to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Brian Hurlburt. Only a small collection of sponsors and VIPs will be able to see the two golf legends in person.
Plenty of details about the winner-take-all match still need to be ironed out, such as the pay-per-view price, and the time at which it'll be played. However, the report indicates that no part of the contest will be played under the lights, contradicting comments made by Mickelson suggesting the event would be played during "prime time."
Since Woods' win at the Tour Championship, combined with Mickelson's poor play, Tiger has become the heavy betting favorite to take home the $9-million prize.
