In a bizarre series of events, the PGA Tour announced it will restart the opening round of the Genesis Open and erase early-morning scores after inclement weather stopped play Thursday.
A total of 10 groups had begun first-round play, which was suspended after 50 minutes.
Eight players shared the lead at 1-under when play was suspended, with the first groups out playing their third holes.
The last PGA Tour event to restart a round was the 2013 Dell Technologies Championship when the third round was reset.
Round 1 will resume at 4:40 p.m. ET.
