NFL announces 2018 compensatory draft picks

Adam Hunger / USA TODAY Sports

The NFL announced 32 compensatory selections for the 2018 NFL Draft on Friday.

Compensatory picks are awarded to teams that lost more or better free agents than they acquired in the previous year. The value of each compensatory draft choice is determined by "a formula based on salary, playing time, and postseason honors."

A total of 32 selections were awarded to 15 teams. The Cardinals (97th overall), Texans (98th), Broncos (99th), and Bengals (100th) all picked up third-round picks.

Cincinnati, along with the Cowboys, Packers, and Raiders led the way with four compensatory picks awarded to each.
