Roma will bypass the qualifying rounds of the Europa League and move directly onto the group stage as a result of AC Milan being banned from European competition for one year.

Milan's suspension comes after they were found to have breached Financial Fair Play regulations over the course of three years.

The Giallorossi were originally slated to kick off their European campaign in the second qualifying round due to their sixth-placed finish in Serie A last season.

Torino are another beneficiary of the ruling, as the Italian side will now take Roma's spot and compete in the Europa League's second qualifying round, which kicks off in late July. Torino finished seventh last season.
